Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter on WPDE-TV located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later she was a morning-news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. O'Dell's reporting on the lax responses of police officers in response to DUI cases in Charleston resulted in an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which resulted in a new direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. The Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with an award for the Best Report of the year Award for all South Carolina media. Following her work in Charleston O'Dell served as anchor and investigative reporter at the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV before joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor as well as a weekday correspondent. Her current position as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She has covered such events as The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as and co-hosted a variety of pre-show arrivals to The Emmys and the Golden Globes. The other shows she has hosted include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
