Nicole Ari Parker was born in New York City. Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and film actress. The most well-known role she has played is was that of Teri, the passionate attorney Teri Jospehson, on the Showtime TV series Soul Food. Nikki Kodjoe became her stage name after her wedding. Her talent for acting was evident in her early years. A Maryland high-school contest awarded her the top actress prize. Apart from her role at the theater, she also worked with 'The Washington Ballet Company. The company awarded her a degree in Acting from New York University. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was a film that earned her a first-class role. There followed films like 'Boogie Nights Spark & Blue Streak. The film was highly praised for her role in Soul Food. Her TV appearances include Second Time Around and Empire. Prior to that she acted in several stage productions. Parker who has a keen passion for politics, is married with actor/model Boris Kodjoe. They have two daughters.
Contractor, born at Mumbai in India and grew up in Nigeria from the time she was seven. She'd been exposed to many different travels and cultures from a early age. From the age of seven until nine, Contractor was a student at boarding schools in London. Her family relocated to Toronto where she lived for most of her childhood. Contractor studied classical ballet in Toronto. Additionally, she excelled academically. She studied at the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, an arts school focused on theater and dance. Contractor started acting at the age of 16 and was a part of the theater for a decade after spending ten years of dance. As soon as she finished her high school education, she was awarded an all-inclusive scholarship to the University of Toronto. At the University of Toronto she completed the Master of Arts in Theatre. She also double majored with Psychology and Sociology. Contractor auditioned at the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After one full year, she was given the role of lead. She received rave reviews for her performances on the stage in 92 productions. the play was voted"the best show of 2002" by Canadian reviewers in 2002. She was given the chance to join Stratford Conservatory. The school accepts only eight men and four woman to take a course in traditional theater. Contractor was ecstatically accepted. Contractor was offered a place for the next season, and was offered the part as Hermia.
